Quickbooks online edition

Self discipline more….

Before I show you my portfolio of my favourite online tools that I promise will help you to work remotely, I wanted to make you aware of one more point connected with self management and specifically to do with keeping your focus and levels of concentration

I’ve uncovered and established a common habit in contacts who work on the Internet and I’ve been in contact with for a substantial period and I call this behavior the fifty minute effect. I uncovered these friends who apply themselves and work for fifty mins. and then kick back for a complete 10 minute rest and are much more efficient and produce a substantially greater quality of work than men and women who don’t have similar working methods.

OK as promised here is my list of preferred remote working online services:

E-Mail

Google Mail has a price tag of zero. For my money the search & label (similar to folders) features are most definitely the best I have so far discovered. The downside is it can be a bit slow on older machines

Phone calls

Skype
continually perplexed me as the connection performance was down right horrible, but all credit to the geeks at Skype now as they have considerably refined the quality of the service. For meagre amount of money a month Skype lets me call and conference in any telephone and Skype user on Earth. The latest version of Skype has an abundance of very useful features and there is an ever growing list of valuable add ons.

Organising Content

Evernote
has reached more than a million users in a very short space of time – it enables you to store, organise and add notes to any type of digital media in the Cloud. Just go check it out…it’s free.

Invoicing, Time and Expenses capture, Accounting and CRM

You surely know that my desire to work remotely was originally encouraged by Quickbooks Online, a small business accounting software web application. But it is shadowed by the free edition of salesorder.com – a lead to cash system that’s as easy to use as a kettle I looked at NetSuite whose pricing (and people) scared me off. My choice here is salesorder.com – Go check it out.

Basics in Bulk REO’s

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

No generation in American history has ever experienced the number of foreclosures and defaulted mortgages as is happening now. Yet well-funded investors in real estate are seizing upon this opening to profit from an profoundly profitable new opportunity.

The real estate investing strategy du jour is called ‘Bulk REO Investing‘ and is a real monster.

Foreclosures are at the heart of the Bulk REO business, so let’s consider the foreclosure process.

To understand investing in Bulk REO, you have to understand the foreclosure process.

As a home owner misses a payment or two, the lender sends the predictable barage of threatening letters and warnings. The lender directs the subsequent timing of the actual foreclosure proceedings. The name for this period is ‘preforeclosure’.

Foreclosure is completed when the defaulted property is auctioned. The lender regains ownership of the property if there are no buyers at auction. This property is then considered to be ‘Real Estate Owned’ by the lender, also known as an ‘REO’ property.

REO properties are usually listed for sale with local real estate agents. But more and more, lenders are selling their REO properties for a greatly reduced price. But the price of receiving such great pricing is the need to purchase multiple REO properties (a ‘package’) rather than individual properties.

The REO investment packages available today have provided a way to profitably capitalize on the U.S. recession. The most successful Bulk REO Investors will have a well-respected source of funding for their transactions. There are many sources of funding for these transasactions including: hard money and commercial financing, as well as non conventional sources such as hedge funds and private investors. One excellent source of funding for Bulk REO Investment transactions can be found here: Bulk REO Investment Training.

Death of the search engine? - Arelis finds a new home

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

It was only a matter of time before an effective tactic was developed to gain widespread competitive advantage from the increasing reliance placed upon links and link text by the major search engines.

Simplicity itself, the technique involves using a version of arelis ( www.arelis.org/ ) in a radically new and different way.

The technique currently sweeping the market has gained proven competitor advantage and with the utlilization of existing technology in a clever and unique way, takes only minutes to perform. The danger lies in that its use may become so widespread that websites will no longer be obtaining a tactical advantage, they will require its use to exist in the world of free search engine traffic.

Arelis allows users to download pages of links, categorise these links, automatically produce link pages based upon them and provide webmasters with the contact address for each site on the link page.

This combination of features allows webmasters to download pages from link exchanges sites. The sites contained on these pages have already indicated their willingness to trade links by joining these link exchange sites.

Arelis automatically obtains link text and can easily be formatted to incorporate the look and feel of the site in question. Thus, in a few simple actions link pages are complete for the webmaster’s site.

The webmaster then uses the templates built into the system to mail the webmasters of the other sites. The mail is typically personalised to incorporate the webmaster name and the sites which are proposed to link. Again, the system inputs these details into the draft mail for you.

The mails are then sent. Some webmasters have reported huge increases in their acceptance rate within a week. Those sites that accept will thus have a reciprocal link in place without any further work required. The process takes minutes for potentially hundreds of reciprocal links and can be used time and again on the same or different sites.

In this way the wise webmasters are generating hundreds of reciprocal links within minutes.

Is the age of links dead? Not yet, the age of the reciprocal link delivering competitive advantage is still here, but soon it will be an essential weapon just to exist.

A free download version and detailed reciew of Arelis and other tools are available at Arelis

Debunking the Most Common Internet Marketing Myths

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Today we will look at the most common myths about making a living on the Internet. There is no shortage of scams and hucksters out there.

1. “Build your downline” - Beware of any program or person that promises to “build a downline” for you. Usually what they don’t tell you is that almost all of these people placed under you are completely useless. Read the fine print and you will find that most of them don’t even have anything to do with your commissions. They are just numbers and names that are below you. Also beware of “one big downline”. Same concept, same scam.

2. “Overnight success” - I don’t care what program you are a part of. You will not be a complete success overnight and quit your job next week. This kind of hype is counterproductive and cheapens the honest programs that are lumped in with this garbage. Any success will be due to hard work and persistence.

3. “It’s all in the list!” - Maybe this is partly true. However, the quality of your list is also important. If you have a list full of harvested email addresses or a list of other marketers, you won’t make much progress. That is unless you are selling shovels instead of gold.

4. “All I need to do is join an affiliate program, buy a million email addresses, do one email blast and I’m rich!” - This is the quickest way to lose your internet service provider, and probably your position in any reputable affiliate program. If you have received spam emails about Viagra or cheap software, then you have seen this in action. The best way to profit from email marketing is to use reputable sources.

5. “I need a modern, flashy, techno-geek site” - Everyone does not have a high-speed internet connection. If your site takes too long to load, visitors will go elsewhere. Make your point with words and use the smallest amount of graphic “clutter” that you can.

Here is the bottom line. If you are looking to make extra money online, then take action and then jump in for the long haul. Doing things right in the beginning will increase your success later. Learn from the best and don’t make the same mistakes others have.

Become a More Successful Affiliate Marketer

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Affiliate or associate marketing is often a challenging enterprise.  There is much more to learn than most of us anticipated when we first started.  And the learning curve can be so steep that many simply give up.

The most frequent difficulty among failed affiliate marketing enterprises is buying magical, secret strategies and not implementing them to test if they actually work.  Some are no more than buyers; they don’t even read the books or watch the videos they buy.  I hope that you are among those who will remain committed for the long term, constantly updating your knowledge base and actually applying what you learn by taking action.  If not, please just stop reading, because you’ll simply waste money, and your business will fail, regardless.  I’m sorry for being so blunt.

I want to recommend two terrific resources for affiliate marketers.  One of those is a new approach to article marketing that automatically forwards your articles to many blogs as well as traditional websites, not just those you run yourself.  This system is a very valuable membership site called My Article Network.  Here I’m going to focus upon one use to which an affiliate marketer can put it, although the prior link in this paragraph will deliver you to a lengthier description of how the entire system works and may benefit you.

If you use the traditional method of article marketing, you write articles and submit those articles to article directories.  With that method, your links are limited to the author’s resource box, usually published at the end of the article.  In the new method of article marketing, you can use the much more effective contextual linking, that is placing your links directly within the content of the article, where they are far more likely to deliver targeted traffic to your vendor’s site.  Most of the major article directories will not allow you to use affiliate links in your own resource box.  However, this new, vastly improved approach allow you to use affiliate links that will go directly to the vendor, without having to send your traffic to your own site as a costly intermediate step.  You can get a feel for the whole process by visiting the site for this unique article marketing approach that will pre-spin your article so that unique versions are distributed to websites and blogs within your niche from their membership of over 10,000 websites.

The other resource is a complete educational system set up exclusively for affiliate marketers of various size businesses as well as those preparing for a career as an affiliate manager.  It is a brand new version of Anik Singal’s well received Affiliate Classroom.  Singal, who was named as one of four Business Week Magazine’s young entrepreneurs of 2008, has spent two years, along with his partner, revamping the critically acclaimed program to make it even more expansive and comprehensive.  If you are truly serious about improving your affiliate marketing business, at least sign up to receive the full information.

As I write this, the product has not yet launched, so all you can do is sign up on the squeeze page to be continually updated.  Depending upon when you read this article, it is possible that it will have already sold out.  Check to see if they have established a waiting list.  If so, sign up and hope that a space for you opens.

By the way, both have affiliate programs, however you must sign up before you get access to the affiliate programs.

I’ve learned a heck of a lot about online marketing without any cost.  One of the most important things that I can do now, that I didn’t know how to do when I was starting is to locate useful, accurate information without any cost.  Most newbies don’t know that they can actually find a high quality free course about how to start an Internet business.

Over the years, I’ve gradually shifted my business model from retailing (which I still do) to affiliate marketing.  I realize that in much of that time period I wasted a lot of money.  Now (a little late) I know that there are placed where there are valuable resources about how to become an affiliate marketer available without cost.  And that free information is much more valuable than almost any of the magic bullet product I bought.

I was reminded of all of that this morning.  I received an email from Anik Singal, one of my own gurus.  Singal is about to release his flagship, college level, newly overhauled affiliate learning resource, Affiliate Classroom 2.  This morning he released a new report that exemplifies how the best will often share what they know, and all you have to do is ask for it.

This zero cost report, which is for affiliate marketing businesses is only 55 pages, but those pages are packed with “read and apply” tips that are of value even to old hands like me.  I’m not sure that I’m supposed to reveal too many of the details, but I’m going to pass along some details, anyway.

After some preliminary background information, Singal uses a case study approach.  He tears apart three typical affiliate marketing websites: an opt-in, a blog and a review site.  Unfortunately these sites all shared a common problem–common to them and common to a lot of affiliate businesses–they weren’t making as much money as they should be.

Singal allows us to sort of look over his shoulder as he examines each site, identifies major problems and then makes critical suggestions for specific improvements.  Despite my years of experience and my relative success as an affiliate marketer, I found a lot of his recommendations could be applied to some of my own sites.

I suspect that once the soon to launch Affiliate Classroom 2 sells out, he will take down the report.  I don’t expect selling out is going to take very long.  If he does remove it, I’ll share a few of his specific insights at a later time.

You may be interested in knowing that Anik Singal was recently named one of Business Week Magazine’s four “young entrepreneurs of 2008.”  Not a bad recommendation for a mentor, is it?

Building a Website is Easy

Monday, September 28th, 2009

The thought of building a web page may be a daunting one, however they are quite easy to build and do not have to be expensive. There are many free editors online that make great web pages, and within a couple of hours anyone can have a professional looking website.

With software companies eager to sell their goods they often persuade people by offering free trials or software with the basic stuff on hoping they will upgrade to the full package once they have tried it out. However, even the free packages are well capable of producing quality Websites.

Once a website is designed it needs to be uploaded to the internet, but first a domain name must be purchased Domain names also comes cheap but make sure to buy one that best describes the sort of products you are selling. It is also a good idea to buy a .com they are the most popular or a .net it sometimes pays to buy both saving anyone else trying to copy your name.

The only thing left is a Hosting company, for a small monthly fee this company will store your website on their server, which basically is a large computer that will display your site as and when people request it by typing in your domain name in a browser. Choosing a good Hosting Company is essential, so the cheapest may not always be the best.

A Website can be created for many reasons, to store information or photos, and are also becoming a popular way to earn income from. Building a web site to selling information products is a good way of making extra cash and once up and running takes very little time to maintain. e-books, Audio, and Video are great ways to get an information product to the customer because they receive it almost instantly which is what the customers like.

Unlike a conventional business where you have to physically buy and sell products
(Which can be very time consuming), a web site selling information products can be programmed to do everything including taking orders, selling and even delivering the item with no input from the owner. Many people are becoming financially free as Selling products online can be very lucrative indeed, but like everything in life the more effort you put into something the more you get out of it.

Exit Splash - Increases Your ROI?

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

You probably surmised that Dave Guindon’s ‘Exit Splash’ is a program which tracks the departing web surfer who will never come back.  This gives you a second chance to present them with a different offer or slightly different offer to get their attention that they’ll convert and respond to.

Even though there are many kinds of exit splash software, they all fall into two main sections.

There is the type which grabs you on exit with a PHP or hover window flying in to catch your attention.  But you can still exit out the window by clicking the exit button.

Exit lockers — those are the gray windows style pop ins or the little chat window which comes into lock you in place and you have to x out of them before you can leave the page.  As an Internet user and web browser obviously those that lock me onto the page can be a bit annoying especially when it’s an offer which doesn’t interest me.  I wanted to get off of a page and had to click OK on the first page, the second page also said click OK to continue or cancel to go page.

Now on the flip side as a webmaster like Dave Guindon I do want a second chance to impress the visitors I worked so hard to bring to my site.  “How can I perform this task without being a pest?”

Obviously I’ve alluded to this a bit earlier but you want to make sure the exit splash offer’s relevant and something users to your website are interested in.  When I’m browsing around the Internet I always like to keep an eye on what other webmasters are doing.  Those who have these exit scripts I take note of whether they do a good job presenting me a sec and offer and then I can model what they are doing on my own sites. With anything like this you must test now different offers and messages allowing your website visitors to tell you which ones are most relevant and those they like best.

You can check out the best solution I found here:

It is of the exit lock type but the numbers it’s generating are pretty significant and definitely worth taking a look at to increase your own web business.

After all the work and possibly money you spend to get visitors to your website it’s worth doing everything you can to maximize the value you get from them.  See your top exit splash solution right here.
